Game #8 1985 vs. 2008
- Game #: 8
- ‘85 record: 3-5 .375
- ‘08 record: 2-6 .250
Giants win in 3-2 in 11 to pull within a game of catching up to the ‘85 record.
Last nights game is a perfect example of why a pitcher’s win loss record isn’t the best method of determining the quality of a pitcher. Lincecum pitched well enough to win last night but a blown save long after he leaves blows the win for him.
| Pitcher | IP | H | R | ER | BB | SO | HR | ERA |
| Lincecum | 6.0 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 7 | 0 | 1.80 |
So far in his two starts this season the Giants have averaged 2.0 runs which is actually slightly lower than their average of 2.375 runs/game. Getting less runs/game than their average and being 1-0 (should be 2-0) just shows you the talent Lincecum has.
